“All the technique in the world does not compensate for the inability to notice - Elliott Erwitt”
At the age of 13 I received my first camera, a KODAK Handle, and my growing passion for fine art expression received a new tool. I quickly began to capture my life from the most interesting angles. It was at this point that I learned a valuable lesson – beauty can be found in the most unexpected places.
After Kodak lost their patent fight with Polaroid (the best doesn't always win) I had to find new gear. So I purchased my first 35 mm SLR, the Minolta x-570. With this camera and the Minolta Maxxum 7si, I learned the technical aspects of photography. However, the digital age and Canon's 300D and EOS 20D have shown me the true beauty of photography.
I now capture images as a hobby photographer in Columbus, Ohio USA under the name Pearl Alley Photography. My mission is to create fine art photography that uncovers unexpected beauty, even harmony in chaos, like a pearl in a dark, abandoned alley. These are some of my images. I hope you enjoy them.
